Futuremed Project




FUTUREMED is a project under the MED Programme that aims to improve the competitiveness of port systems in the MED area by improving accessibility through technology and procedural innovations, and guaranteeing sustainability of transport. The idea focuses on the realization of interoperable management information systems and on the reduction of externalities.

The project intends to define and implement, by means of concerted territorial actions and pilot projects, sustainable middle- and long-term development strategies.

The aim of the contribution of the department of Industrial Engineering - Bologna University is to support the project in the analysis, design and optimization of logistic activities and issues related to the agro-food supply chain, i.e. the perishable fresh food products (mainly fruits and vegetables), by the partnership with many stakeholders operating within the chain.
